What is Mindfulness?
It's about recognizing and appreciating the simple joys and pleasures of life. It's about savoring a French-Pressed coffee and having lunch with a friend. Finding the humor in everyday snafus and writing a hand-written note. Viewing the sunset from your apartment window. A beautifully cooked meal. It's the simple everyday appreciating while doing. A life of meaningful abundance.
This is a title.
“Staycation”

There’s nothing like a morning you can sleep in without the responsibilities of a deadline and meeting client demands. What does time off mean to you? I often hear people discussing the phrase “Staycation”. I used to think that staying home for a week would be boring and not very productive. But, after listening to my friends and colleagues, it seems they are on to something. Not to say a week in Paris or Hawaii wouldn’t be exciting by all means.
Sometimes, just having the quiet time to yourself, regrouping, reconnecting, and listening to your favorite podcasts can bring new inspiration to your life. To me, it’s almost like hitting the reset button on new ideas. In fact, recently I had a few days off and I picked up writing again, which led me to write this current blog post.
As my staycation wraps up, I made time for a facial, brunch at a new local restaurant, and a Sunday Farmer’s Market visit to cook a delicious meal and enjoy the last warm days on my deck with a glass of vino. It’s not quite having someone to clean the kitchen, but you can’t have everything.

We all know that Sunday at the beginning of a new week. Many people may feel it’s the last day of weekend freedom before the 5-day uphill stretch until freedom again.
Until recently, I used to have the same sentiments. However, I decided to change the way I look at things. I now enjoy my Sundays more than ever. In fact, It is my favorite day of the week. I know that sounds like crazy talk, but I feel as if Sunday is a reflective day to be at peace, whether you're with family or just gathering your thoughts and relaxing.
I created a mini ritual I like to call ”Sunday Zen”. I find it helps to get me centered for the week ahead. It goes a little something like this. I get up a bit later than usual, prepare my French Press coffee and breakfast, remind me not to check e-mail, and definitely don’t check the news for least a few hours. I listen to music without all the usual distractions. I feel it really sets the tone for the work week ahead.
Do you have a Sunday ritual? If so ,what is your Sunday Zen?
